Outside Line, 2016, Belfast
This work was designed, manufactured and constructed for Catalyst Arts Belfast. It is a permanent installation in the Archive Room just off the gallery and is the first permanent work commissioned by the gallery. The room, which plays host to Northern Ireland’s only visual arts archive overlooks an alleyway and had no natural light before this project. To allow some light into the gallery a window was installed.
The work was designed to work like a dormer window would but on a wall rather than a roof. From the outside however you can see that it is built as though it were a roof, using roof felting, flashing tape and corrugated Onduline.
